Exploring Identity and Purpose Through Creative Collaboration and Activism
I’m a Los Angeles based actress and writer known for playing resilient, strong, yet vulnerable roles. Growing up with a single, adopted, Black mother of four, from D.C…it makes sense! I’ve moved a lot, went to approx. 10 different schools growing up and have experienced homelessness. In this same lifetime, I’ve also hiked glaciers with strangers in Iceland, canoed to distant beaches with locals in the Philippines, and have drunk the best wine with the elderly near the magnificent Colosseum. Going through dark times in a world that seems so corrupt and divided, it can be so easy to feel hopeless and alone. Experiencing so many different walks of life has given me hope. It opened my eyes to other cultures, other lifestyles, and other points of view. It has helped me to understand people who are not like me and see them as my brothers and sisters who are just figuring their way through the pains and beauties of life, just like me. This is why I love storytelling: Instead of pushing us away, stories draw us in by allowing us to experience perspectives and lifestyles that are different from our own. They teach us. They humble us. They remind us that we are all human. I want to tell the stories that remind people of that so that we can one day see each other as the magnificent Light that we truly are.
